Nails: Be My (unconventinal) Valentine

Bon siman dazzling, (which means Good week)

Valentines day is approaching...and we all know how commercialized the worldwide celebration of love and friendship is.
ALMOST every shop will be covered in white and red and eager people trying to find the perfect gift for their valentine...

And today I brought you a nail design especially made with Valentines Day in mind. Only, I decided not to use the conventional red and white combo. Thus the plea...for you to "Be My (unconventional) Valentine"

Hmmmm...a not-so-everyday combination? Mint green and hot pink...Bingo!

First I covered all the nails except the ring fingers in 'Mint Candy Apple'from Essie, and later I painted the ring fingers in 'The Pinky and The Brain'from Catrice/
Let them dry completely!
With a sharpie or a nail art pen, paint a big heart on the ring fingers and fill it in with a darker blue/green glitter hue. In this case I used 'Cosmo'from Jordana.
On the middle finger and the index I drew little hearts using 'The Pinky and The Brain' and a toothpick. Then drew little cute dotted lines under each heart with a nail art pen.

Once dry, seal it all in with your fave topcoat and go love a little out there.

Aaaaaaand that's all folks. I'll try and see if I can at least do one more v-day post before the 14th. But I won't promise. :P (What???? I'm LAZY sometimessss...you guys know that)
Haha, anyways... love you, lovebugs!!!

Feauture post: Purple Cracked Nails

Her mom says we have a bunch of things in common. Choices, behavior, thoughts... a WHOLE lot.
But guess what, that's no problem to me thou... it's a total pleasure to have a twin soul in such a beautiful girl like Mythzy.

Between all the things we have in common, she loves nail polishes too... (but that shouldn't really surprise you hahaha).
As soon as her mother showed me the picture of these nails I was lovestruck...
It's been a while since I last used crackle...so this insipred me to try a cracked nail art myself one of these days!

So without any more blah blah's...may I proudly present to you the lovely 'Purple Cracked Nails' by Mythzy (Mythzarah Zwerwer)

...and this is the explanation in the words of the nail artist herself:

Hi sy!  How are you? I'm glad you liked my nails.
I used 2 coats of Essie (St. Lucia Lilac) and let them dry for about 5 minutes and then topped it off with one thin layer of L.A girl purple cracked nail polish.
Don't forget to use a top coat.
You inspire me to do fun looks on my nails. I love your website sy!
You're awesome.
Hugs and kisses,
Mythzy

Well...I've said this a couple of times and I repeat... I totally LOVE your nails Mythzy!!! they look sooooo gorgeous...
Thank you, beautiful<3

'I Have Boobies'

In honor of all the beautiful women (and men) battling breast cancer worldwide, THIS goes for you.
As you may already know, October is Breast cancer Awareness month. Pink Ribbons everywhere to raise awareness on this illness.
I know some people who battled breast cancer, and I'm aware women and men should get themselves examined every now and then. I've got a lot of admiration for those who live to share their experiences with others. My grain I want to contribute with this month is the following nail art. May I present to you ‘I Have Boobies’ a nail art for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
On the pinky, index finger and the thumb I used Metallic Champagne from Nabi, a super girly metallic pink.
The Glittery nail is Paparazzi from Colormates...lots and lots of glitter
The background of the accent nail is Little Brown Dress from Essie, the ribbon is in Picture Perfect Pink from Jordana Pop Art Nail Design and the little flower is a simple nail sticker..GORGEOUS isn't it?!

I was going to do some stamping on the Metallic Champagne nails, but decided in the end I’d better keep it on the simpler side.

Momsikens has been shopping in my stash lately for her very own NOTW. So far I could persuade her to try some very outspoken colors, like for example a bright banana yellow. This week she’s also on the pink side. WHOOT-WHOOT
This is the swatch of the Look at Me from Colormates. The Finish is more on the matte side; not COMPLETELY matte, as you can see, but it lacks shine. Nevertheless I think it’s a beautiful bright pink. Definitely a plus for my stash!

Anyways...this is all for today. Hope you enjoyed!
Any Breast Cancer Awareness look yourself?

Miami Express

By the time you receive this post, I would be on my way to Miami.

AAAAAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!! THAT FELT SO GOOD TO SAY!!!

Especially to show the excitement of this trip I did a distinguished Miami nail design called Miami Express.

I used an AVALANCHE of colors to achieve this look...

List of used colors

Pinky and the Brain (Catrice)
White (Jordana)
Bright Blue ( Jordana)
Rich Green (Jordana)
Beavis and Mudhead (Catrice)
Seashell (L.A. Colors)
Glorious Aquarius (Essence Nail art)
Express in Yellow (Jordana)
Brown (Jordana)
Voodoo (L.A. Colors)
Nail artist Fine art pen  (Kiss in black and pink)
Light blue permanent marker :)

Figured out there was so much going on on them nails??

The beach scene wasn't as complicated as it looks. With a very small brush you would achieve it in no time. My true headache was the plane though...I still think it looks kinda like a disabled mosquito... But I gave up around midnight hahaha...

Well...this is how the Miami Express rolls...
Vacation starts HERE!
LOL

Anyways...I have some vacationing to do...
As promised I've scheduled some posts so you won't stay empty-handed while I'm out there enjoying hahahahaha

See you very soon lovebugs,

Blue-mings

This time I decided to try two other unused colors in the stash.

The Steel-ing my Heart from Essie and the Teal Steel from Sally Hansen

I named the nail design "Blue-mings", especially because of the little pink and white flowers I added to the accent nail.

I personally feel as thou my nails are just a bit too shiny for my taste...lol.

But Nevertheless I'm in love with both basic colors. I think it's the combination that makes me think twice

The Teal Steel is a vibrant blue with a very beautiful green-ish shine. And the Steel-ing my heart is a high shining silver color...true silver...I like that!

I was going to try a more complicated design...but still I decided to go for something easy in the end, because I was reading a book and I wanted to hurry to go back to it.

This sunday I'm flying to Miami finally...I'm sooooo excited. I'll see if I can do another nail post before I leave, thou the schedule is very tight.
I'll also try to schedule in a couple of posts for the week I'll be absent.

WELL...lemme go attend other bussiness and I'll be back soon.

Muddy Miss Leopard

I wanted to try some leopard print this time. And I wanted to test-drive the 'Beavis and Mudhead' (Catrice)..
Perfect!!!! I'll combine them...

Last night I made the first attempt which resulted into a major fail. Didn't like the color combination, detested the way the design turned out and was plain disgusting! Really, see for yourselves...

Couldn't force myself to look at that for more than 24 hours....yuck.
So as I reached home tonight I took them off and retried the whole process... Only, I used a different design and decided upon a different color combo. And THIS is what a heart-rob looks like...(even if I have to say that myself) I love it!

The base color is of course the 'Beavis and Mudhead' (Catrice). On the accent nails I used 'Pink Lilac' (Jordana) as the base color since it's soft and girly especially in combination with the brown. For the prints I used the 'Beavis and Mudhead' and accentuated with 'Little Brown Dress' (Essie). Again I used The ballpoint and toothpick to create the design. And I think it looks just lovely...don't you think?

On another note, I got a gig as the official make-up artist of the 'Bikers Life magazine'. (GASP) M-HM, Yeah boy... :D
I know the designer of the magazine personally, and she approached me this week to see if I was interested...
Well I DID get cramps, goosebumps and an accelerated heartbeat when the question was asked....but not enough to make mw not try the challenge out.
If it's something for me or not? Time will tell...
As for now, I'm in!!
So they are holding the Bikers Queen Contest soon and today the contestants had their professional photo shoot at three different locations on the island. And I was there helping with the make-up and stuff...HOW EXCITING IS THAT?
Didn't get to make-up ALL the 10 girls...some were wearing their own stuff and some...well some were a bit hard headed. The team I worked with is extremely fun, down to earth and... loud. And in spite of a very warm weather and having to travel around with a big bag of make-up I had an amazing time!

Doing make-up for yourself is of course always easier than doing the same thing for someone else. You already know the contour of your own face, you know your stronger side, your flaws and you know exactly what you want and how you want that. Having to make up someone else, and especially someone you've never before seen in your life, is an art... Finding yourself in front of a clear clean canvas with the task to create your best piece.

I did my best...if I get my hands on the pics of the girls, I'll make sure I'll show you!

As for now, this is it. I'm exhausted...it sure has been a long day...

See you soon darling.
