Nails: In Royal Occassion

Here's another quickie...

So tomorrow is Queen's Day. Which is a national holiday celebrated throughout the Dutch Kingdom (actually celebrating the birthday of the queen...not Beatrix, Juliana; the previous one). And since Curacao (my little beautiful island) is part of the Dutch Kingdom, we celebrate too.
Tomorrow is going to be the last Queens Day celebration for now. Since queen Beatrix has announced that on April 30th of this year she will abdicate and her son, Willem-Alexander will be inaugurated as king of the Dutch Kingdom.

Well, for as unpatriotic as I can be, I decided to do something on my nails for the last Queen's Day anyways.
Using the colors that are used during this celebration...
ORANGE (used wide-ranged representing the Dutch royal dynasty "House of Orange") and the color of the Dutch flag RED, WHITE and BLUE.

Yada yada yada...enough history lesson. This is the super quick nail art I ended up with...
Orange and white bases with red and blue accents...(with some gold glitters on the pinky)
Enjoy...

There, I hope you liked it.

Have you done anything crazy with your nails for Queen's day? Let me know!
In the mean time, I've already thought about my next nail art. Got a couple of days off, so you'll probably hear from me soon again (I'm gonna do my best...really)

Nails: 'Doodle my Heart' & 'Cloud Nine'

Riiiight before V-day...yet another unconventional nail look. OMG...everywhere is stacked with red and white....bears, flowers, chocolate boxes, candy...you know how it goes, right?

Well here, two easy breezey looks to quickly make your nails V-day ready. (in an unconventional way)

The first is a silly one I did last week but 'didn't have enough time to post.
The 'Doodle My Heart' nails...

Can you say easy???

I painted my nails in 'Genius in The Bottle' from Catrice and 'Chifon' from Jordana.
Once the nails were completely dry I grabbed a nail art pen (you can also use a sharpie) and doodled away on the Chifon nails.
Hearts, kisses, love...you choose.
Once dry, top it with your favorite topcoat to seal your art and TA-DA!!!
Unconventional and simple...

Then we have 'Cloud Nine', multi-colored, girly and fun.

All but the accent nails were painted in 'Morning Glory' from LA COLORS. Two coats will do the trick.
The middle finger was painted in white first sine I wanted to use the pink glittery glow in the dark polish from Claire's and it's very sheer.
The ring finger 'Light Blue' from Nabi.

When the accent nails are dry (paint them first so they'd dry while you paint the others), cover the middle finger with your glittery shade of choice and used a dotting tool dipped in white polish to paint cloud-like skuiglee (word not existent) clouds on the ring finger. And let it dry!!!
Once ready, paint a big heart in a bright color on the nail surrounded by small flying hearts all around.

Ahhhhh....love is in the air!!!

Top off with your favorite top-coat and drift away with love...

Well...happy love and friendship day tomorrow, my lovebugs!!! I love and appreciate you guys immensely...
Lots of kisses and warm hugs...

Make-up: Colorful Beginnings

People do all of the craziest things for new year. My new year started in a very peculiar way...peculiar and colorful.

I combined a fucschia skinny pant with a gray and black blouse and yellow accesories for new year. And I tried this bright make up that combined the best of it all... Mostly colorful to the extremes.

So yeah, I had a pretty colorful beginning I'd say...

First, I covered the whole eye in a neutral tone. I like to do that, as a color solid background for whatever color I intend to use on the eye. The Eyelids were covered in yellow. The yellow I have is originally pretty light, so I used a liquid primer to help it hold and make it pop a bit more.
In the crease and up to the brow bone I used fucshia. I must say this is a pigmented powdered eye-shadow from Splash, with small gold particles. Very pretty color. I've had it for a year and barely used it, so sad!
I dashed some of the pink on the inner lower lower lid as well and the rest of the lid was painted in turquoise...just to add a drop of fun to it.

In the outer corner of the upper lid I accentuated the look with dark gray and topped it off with fake lashes from KISS (I think these were the Juicy Volume #2)

As colorful as my new year could get...
Fireworks were happening on my face as well as in the sky. And I was happy with the results... as crazy as it might have looked..

Would you dare color your 2013 crazy...?? Be it with make-up, nails, cooking, crafting or with (fill in your talent/passion). Go ahead...sprinkle some color on your new year...

Make-Up: 'Blue water Flamingoes'

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY LOVEBUGSSSS!!!!

We made it through yet another year. And I'm happy to have you guys in 2013 with me... Be it to just read my blog, or to comment every now and then, or to inspire me, or to believe in my craziness....
Know what, let's Rock 2013!!

BTW, today we start the January Photo Challenge....You're still in time to participate. Come on up...upload that picture babeh!

In my last post I promised that I had some pending posts. One of them was make- up looks...
I thought I could make a collage of the make up looks to show you, but when I went through them I decided otherwise...
So here's the first post...'Blue water Flamingoes', a combination of gold, peach and blue.

To achieve this look is pretty easy. I first covered the whole eyelid with a goldy shade to start with. Then I added a peach shade on half the eyeball area...the outer half in this case. Next, I put some dark blue on the crease and accentuated the eye with a black shade in a V-shape starting from the upper lashes up to the outer crease. Don't forget to blend everything well. It is what makes a make up look beautiful and finished.

I wore a peach dress with blue accesoires...royal blue... So I wanted to have some blue in my make-up too but not too much. In addition to the blue in the crease, I lined my inner lower lid with a liquid eyeliner in electric blue...
And the make-up is ready... You can go out there and party like crazy now!

Now, this is it for now beautiful people...
I still have more pending posts. I hope to have the time to sit down and schedule a few more.
Stay pending. And if anything, mail me on hellodazzlingblog@gmail.com, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Nails: Fireworks and Glam

Here's a quick post, just to show you a very easy idea I had for new year nails.

First I had this very extravagant idea in my head, but when I executed it, that all it was...extravagant. And in my opinion, not in an all too cute way. So immediately I took em off...but not without shamelessly taking a picture first to show you guys. I mean...you have the right to see my fails too...-_-
Only thing about this idea...there was too much going on on one hand. Fireworks, wishes, champagne flute, glitters, polka dots... hmmmm waaaayyy tooooo much momma...way too much!

started well...

ended in fatality...

So the next I tried something more....basic and beautiful...black and glitter.
I covered my ring finger and my thumb in 'Circus Confetti' from Essence and the remaining nails are simply 'Black' from Jordana.
I opted for the 'Circus Confetti' because it's a multi-colored glitter shade. It gives the impression of a party, new year, fire works...happiness. But you can choose any glittery shade you like.

When the nails were dry, I did this wannabe gradient  diagonally on the pinky and the index finger using the 'Circus Confetti'. Notice that for a change, one gradient is coming down and the other one is going up.
On the middle finger, simply using white polish and a thin brush, I wrote 2013. Wait for it all to dry..top up with a shiny topcoat and boom...colorful, festive new year nails!

Hope you like it, lovebugs...

I still have make-up looks to share with you guys and an update to the no-bake dessert. But this'll be it for now.
I wish you a smashing 2013. Thank you for your love, trust and support throughout 2012. May the best of all the bests fall in your bosoms in this coming year and may you come to enjoy every second of it.
Hope to be able to count on you amid 2013 as well.
I very much appreciate each and every one of you!!!

Craft: The unconventional Christmas tree

Traditionally our family never decorate our Christmas tree with the conventional ornaments.
It's been like this for YEARS. And this year we discovered some people like THIS exactly about our Christmas tree...the surprise factor.

I mean, let's be honest; we've decorated the tree with cardboard boxes, aluminium foil, ragged jeans, clothes pegs...last year we did news paper. So this year it was time for plastic cups and potato sacks.

Oh believe me, me and my little brother had a good laugh just thinking about the reaction of people when they're told what your Christmas tree was decorated with...
Imagine them say something like: "What? (giggle) How cheap is that?" or " You MUST be kidding me, right?"

But hey, I come from an artistically rich family...there's so much creativity going on, that we can't help but do it our own way. (take a look on www.omarsling.com or www.francissling.com. Both my older brothers, both creativity lovers)

So this is it...with plastic cups and old potato sack it is...

We used 1fl oz. sized cups and thread. We bought a pack of ornament hangers and spray paint cans in pink and gold in a cheap store and went on making our own ornaments.

The potato sack? Well, mom just bought a sack of potatoes at the supermarket this week. So we placed the potatoes in another bag so to use the sack they came in...

And THAT'S how we roll with the Christmas tree this year...
It surely look more beautiful in person than it looks on these pics. But it's only so you'd have an idea...

I'm in love, every time I step in the living room and see the beauty of creativity standing right there.

Well I hope you enjoyed your Christmas time as much as I did, lovebugs.
Now it's up to a fruitful 2013...

Nails: "Dear Rudolph"

Right before Christmas...another Christmas nail art.

This time it's 'Dear, Rudolph'. It seems Santa has been skipping my address for the past years. I have no idea why...I've been nice...yup...I've been the nicest of 'em all. So this year I wrote Rudolph a letter instead, to see if he can direct the sleigh my way...lol... And the letter goes: "Dear, Rudolph..."

Anyways, enough craziness...this is it....
With two accent fingers total!

On the ring fingers I used 'Brown' from Jordana, Honestly, I think I should have gone for a lighter shade of brown, you barely see the nose. On the middle finger I used 'Gold Sparkle' from LA Colors. And the remaining nails are in 'Red Sparkle' from Milani. Since it's Christmas and the environment is festive, I thought about using a lot of glittery shades for this look. Thou I was already worried sick about taking all the glitter off. Those of you co- nail-polish-lovers know what a pain it can be to take off glittery polish...

Once the accent nails were totally dry I added the eyes and nose of Rudolph on the ring finger and on the middle finger I added a little ornamental piece...especially because I missed some green in the whole art.

Let everything dry thoroughly and add your favorite topcoat. And show off some glittery Rudolph nails this Christmas time...

Hope you enjoyed it once more.
Merry Christmas, you Dazzler....lol
