Make-up: Colorful Beginnings

People do all of the craziest things for new year. My new year started in a very peculiar way...peculiar and colorful.

I combined a fucschia skinny pant with a gray and black blouse and yellow accesories for new year. And I tried this bright make up that combined the best of it all... Mostly colorful to the extremes.

So yeah, I had a pretty colorful beginning I'd say...

 

First, I covered the whole eye in a neutral tone. I like to do that, as a color solid background for whatever color I intend to use on the eye. The Eyelids were covered in yellow. The yellow I have is originally pretty light, so I used a liquid primer to help it hold and make it pop a bit more.
In the crease and up to the brow bone I used fucshia. I must say this is a pigmented powdered eye-shadow from Splash, with small gold particles. Very pretty color. I've had it for a year and barely used it, so sad!
I dashed some of the pink on the inner lower lower lid as well and the rest of the lid was painted in turquoise...just to add a drop of fun to it.

In the outer corner of the upper lid I accentuated the look with dark gray and topped it off with fake lashes from KISS (I think these were the Juicy Volume #2)

As colorful as my new year could get...
Fireworks were happening on my face as well as in the sky. And I was happy with the results... as crazy as it might have looked..

Would you dare color your 2013 crazy...?? Be it with make-up, nails, cooking, crafting or with (fill in your talent/passion). Go ahead...sprinkle some color on your new year...

Make-Up: 'Blue water Flamingoes'

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY LOVEBUGSSSS!!!!

We made it through yet another year. And I'm happy to have you guys in 2013 with me... Be it to just read my blog, or to comment every now and then, or to inspire me, or to believe in my craziness....

In my last post I promised that I had some pending posts. One of them was make- up looks...

I thought I could make a collage of the make up looks to show you, but when I went through them I decided otherwise...

So here's the first post...'Blue water Flamingoes', a combination of gold, peach and blue.

To achieve this look is pretty easy. I first covered the whole eyelid with a goldy shade to start with. Then I added a peach shade on half the eyeball area...the outer half in this case. Next, I put some dark blue on the crease and accentuated the eye with a black shade in a V-shape starting from the upper lashes up to the outer crease. Don't forget to blend everything well. It is what makes a make up look beautiful and finished.

I wore a peach dress with blue accesoires...royal blue... So I wanted to have some blue in my make-up too but not too much. In addition to the blue in the crease, I lined my inner lower lid with a liquid eyeliner in electric blue...

And the make-up is ready... You can go out there and party like crazy now!

Feature Post: Smokey Madness

Feature feature featuuuuuurrreeee....(read that in a melodious high pitched voice)

Yes lovebugs...it's time for another feature post. And I'm very excited to present today this friend and partner in crime of mine. I mean, if people pay close attention to our interactions, we'd probably be banned from civilization. It's THAT crazy boy, that crazy. But hell do I love the craziness...

Today we have the 'Smokey Madness' by, Mamiluka (Miluska Hansen)

She's crazy, gorgeous, fun and a couple of other things I'm not allowed to mention on my blog hahahaha (If you hear anything happened to me after posting this blog, it's probably her fault. She's gonna KILL me!! hahaha)
But ok, le friend got experimenting last Saturday and came up with this rockin' smokey look.
The whole experiment took place in a moment of total madness...

Here's the explanation I got from the make-up artist herself...

So it was this Saturday morning and I woke up realizing that I have 10 days to complete 10 assignments for school on which I normally spend a week each.. I was feeling down... so I went and took a bath, dressed myself up and started doing my makeup.. I mean.. I'll be going into history for breaking my own record so why shouldn't  I do it looking bootylicius :P   

I started off by priming my whole face with Milk of Magnesia ( to oil the face down) 

then I applied a cream eyeliner in dark brown on the zone 1 of my eyelid. 

with my 120 color eye shadow pallet I applied some black on the eye and blended it in with some brown.. ( for the natural look ) 

highlighted the crease and voila !! 

going in to history !!

And you bet it's a total home-run into history if you'd ask me.

These were the bootylicious results....

Caramel Covered Bananas and hauling

As promised in my last post, there was another make-up look; the one I wore last Sunday. This one's called 'Caramel Covered Bananas'.
I wore a dress that had beige, blue and black as the predominant colors. But in between all these deep colors, there where dashes of banana yellow, honey and purple. So I opted for yellow and bronze eyes to accentuate those colors in the dress.
And this is how it turned out to be...

Right from the inner corner until the half of the eyelid was made a light banana yellow tone and the outer half of the eye and the bone where given a bronzey tone.
To intensify the look I tight lined the upper lid and painted a very narrow line with theliquid eyeliner on half the eyelid as close to the lash-line as possible.

Status? Overall... pretty satisfied....

By the way.... I've also been HAULINGGGG!!!
It is official...I'm pretty much addicted I guess. Last Thursday I had to take the mom to the supermarket after work. It is normally the hour I use to read and stuff...since I usually just sit and wait in the car as she takrs her time to grocery shop..
This time I had to buy soap and hair gel thou...
"Soap and gel, soap and gel, soap and gel..." I repeated as I entered the cosmetic department of the supermarket. Everything went well...until I stood in the row waiting to pay and I saw them.....nail polish to drop death for... And I just HAD to have 'em...( especially the blue one)

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Limestone, Teal Steel and Nail'd it!

As incredible as it might sound, these are my very first Sally Hansen polishes in the actual stash. I have used the Sally Hansen top coats before, but not the colors...

 So, as soon as I try these on I'll let you know.

Besides nail polish, I also bought the jumbo eye pencil from L.A. Colors in Limeade...
This is the color it says to be...(picture from the official website of L.A. Color cosmetics)

I might try it on later on when I head to brunch with my girls...depending on what the make-up turn out to be.
All by all, I'm super happy with my newbies....
